FISH PDF Print E-mail

Now that we are done with the holidays and we are ready for the new semester in the LCPS I feel it is a great time for us to reach out and become part of the FISH (Friends in School Helping) program that JABA (Jefferson Area Board of Aging) has going in our elementary schools. This is simply a program to assist children that need that little extra push in the right direction. You may help someone with reading or explain math or even assist with their writing skills but whatever the task you will be helping a child feel better about themselves.  If you are interested in helping with this program or any program on our website please feel free to contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call540-967-6095.

Breakfast Buddies PDF Print E-mail

Breakfast Buddies is a program that assists elementary school students. It is in all of the elementary schools and needs volunteers to offer their time once a week to a student that needs assistance. You eat breakfast with the student then help them with their specific area of need. Sometimes just being a friend to a child is enough to help them turn the corner in their academic life. Volunteer today. To get an application you can pick one up from the Betty Queen Center, email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and I can send you an electronic copy or call and give me your address and I'll send one out. Volunteer today!
